How do I evaluate a motorcycle repair school? Are they all Private and "for profit"? - repair motorcycle site:blogspot.com

My son wants a motorcycle mechanic, and I am willing to pay for the best Shool. Yahoo and Google is not trying to show a lot. One in Arizona and Florida and Pennsylvania, and a pair of home study courses. No colleges or schools that were able to identify the trade.

What questions do I do with these schools? What should I consider? Learning at home is a viable alternative when it comes to finding a job? I will not be snookered by a flashy sales presentation, I make sure to find a school, with real meat "for him.

I went home School. To Arizona.Great MMI another says: Just walk into a store and tell them you want to talk to the technicians. You really have only 3 choices.MMI is in Arizona and flordia (same school) and ACI in flordia ... The good news is that these schools after completion of the theory of mechanics, motorcycle, then take what you want, as Harley, Honda, Suzuki, .. (AMI MMI and factory support from various companies, was informed of the school, why and how they want technical training). Or, if time and money is no problem, you can mix and match ... The courses can participate in a bicycle brand employability, not all your eggs in one basket, Harley not be hired Honda etc ... Course home study is a waste of time and money, forget to add that .. It's like filling in the back of a match book cover to learn, a policeman or guard .. Schools in the area of high technology is the theory of VOC and practical experience, but everything looks generic and not a brand of motorcycles ... The moIt is is important to remember that even after San courses begin at the foot of the stairs, you know everything, you learn by doing and learning in the real world .. Not the way to school through the book and it is convenient in the world to do things ... Any questions please email me american_viper@yahoo.com

I can not speak from community colleges to know that classes are in the maintenance of motorcycles, self-study courses and a waste of time (and money) if you want to work for commercial purposes.

Unfortunately, the time when you could wait to get a bike by hanging in a shop and just try to come to an end soon. With modern bikes as new cars, a motorcycle technician will be complicated to learn about computers, electronic fuel injection and that some formal training is required.

From what I hear, Motorcycle Mechanics Institute is strongly recommended by the stores in my area.

I personally think schools are a waste of money. Education is always preferable to a single pitcher four times and have a repair manual for them. Must be used with simple things like changing the oil, then go to these topics in depth. Meanwhile, the commercial said, and see if you get a job, even if they sweep the floor. This initiative places in the region and they can use it if necessary, by bicycle to work. Finally, there is more to you. Nothing beats the hands on training and a job when you return.

You do not want to talk to the school. They are preserved in the busines of all students. Talk with the best motorcycle shop and ask what type of education and schools for hire, if they find a mechanic.
It may also be useful to see the manufacturer accredadation done.
